Today started out with so many reminders that we're not in the States...websites that are blocked, flat irons that go "pop" (oops!) when plugged in and a buffet that has so much food but most of it we were advised to skip. Yes, there is no place like home!
Yesterday the weather was perfect in Beijing. Our guide took us to Tian' anmenn Square, The Forbidden City and an acrobatic show. The other families in our group are very friendly and its been nice getting to know them. It brought huge smiles to our faces to see Chinese children and know that in just a few days we would meet our little ones.
I had no idea blondes (Okay, I'm really gray, but that's beside the point.) are such celebrities here. It was embarrassing but funny to have them ask to be photographed with me. :) So if you're blonde and needing a celebrity fix come to China!
When we returned to our hotel last night our guide gave us some additional information about Bella such as what she eats, how often, etc. She was described as being very easy going and happy. One questions asked what makes her upset? "She is upset when she does not get what she wants." Mike said she sounds a lot like her mama!
We're still getting adjusted to the time change. Went to bed at 8 but we were up at 3 and eating M&M's by 5:30. Today we'll visit the Great Wall and the Summer Palace. I'll include a few pics from our day.
We feel so blessed to have such a great family, sweet friends and wonderful neighbors!
